享乐的陷阱

周六在广图8楼看书,桌对面一位穆斯林小哥用一个架子一边看书,一边在旁边的平板上写字,看起来甚是方便。回来后在淘宝上搜了一下,果然找到同款,下单后今天(周二)就到了。晚上回来摆在桌上,放上那本《上瘾五百年》,一边看书一边在本子上打字,很有码字工的感觉。

对,码字。从现在开始要增加码字量了。虽然天天都在和文字打交道,还经常翻译大段大段的英文,但是要自己写点东西,却往往下笔无言。很佩服那些辛勤的写作者,不光是种种奇思妙想,种种令人拍案叫绝的情节转折,还有行文中对语言的运用之妙,或不厌其烦,或精简无比,都令我时不时在想,这到底都是怎么写出来的……

然后很多写作指南、写作心得都告诉我,最重要的就是开始写。每天都写,写满一千五百字,两千字,这样你的写作能力才能提高。无他,唯手熟尔。

当然,于我而言,想要写出很有文学性的东西来恐怕不太现实。以前写过的最有文采的文字,估计就是高中时参加作文比赛时写的一首关于乔丹的诗了。前一阵还看了许多有关科幻写作的东西,幻想着依靠写科幻卖版权,实现财务自由的梦想。然而,始终没有想到什么有趣的idea。有时好不容易想出来一个,却发现早就被人写过。

当然,还是经常会看到写得很烂的科幻小说,许多热门的科幻电影,内容其实也很不堪。时常会想,这段要是让我来写应该如何,这一场景应该怎样才会更好。可惜这些想法都一闪而过,没有记录下来。或许我该学习卡尔维诺的写作方式,对某个事物有所感悟就写下来,将各式各样的描述分门别类,放在不同的文件夹里。最终,把相关的内容撷取出来,整理一下,就变成了一本耐人寻味的书。

这样的描述不一定要写实。可以专注于想象,尽可能地想象,无远弗届地想象,不用担心与现实脱节的问题——身处一个魔幻现实的时代,有什么好担心的呢?

前几天还翻了一下丰子恺先生写的《你若爱,生活哪里都可爱》。很恬淡的文字,种种生活中的感悟,突然让我回想起来最初写博客的时候。也是时不时描写一下生活里的各种趣事,那种描白的写法,有时读起来也让人觉得舒服。

但是,文笔上跟丰子恺还是远远不能相比的。他那些个性鲜明的画,透着生活的练达与智慧,也与他的文字互相映照。有时你还会看到他在书中用到一些很不常见的词或字,比如“鹣鹣鲽鲽”,初看到很觉得新奇,由比目鱼也猜到了这个成语的意思。得空查了一下,便更了解自己所知的粗浅——换另一个朋友看到或许就觉得稀松平常了。

于是说了半天,还是没有进入正题,也就是未来的写作方向的问题。摆在我面前的,是一本挺耐读的书,《上瘾五百年  烟、酒、咖啡和鸦片的历史》。这种历史+科学的普及读物一向是我的最爱。之前看的一本《致命元素  毒药的历史》,也是类似的风格,有空得再看一遍。

最近还在想,应该再把詹姆斯·伯克的《轮回》(Circles)和《双轨》(Twin Tracks)两本小书拿出来仔细研读,或许可以模仿一下他的写法,讲一些生物学史的有趣故事。或许不仅于此,还可以做一些非虚构的尝试。

Site visitors can also find nearly 100 links that will take them to websites offering free books online. Links are updated on a regular basis and include descriptions that make it easy to find what you are looking for.

With nearly 4,000 free books, Classic Reader is a great place to find classic books, plays, poems and short stories. You can read the books for free on the site and add your own annotations.

Authorama features free books from a wide variety of authors. All of the books in this online library are public domain books in XHTML, which means that formatting and illustrations have been preserved. There are currently more than 100 free books available and new books are added on a regular basis.

Bored.com is exactly what the name implies–a site for people who are bored online. The site offers thousands of free books can be stored on your computer and read online.
